Drawing a Body by Audrey-Ellis Drawing a Body by Audrey-Ellis
So here's a little tutorial I whipped together. Obviously I couldn't fit everything I knew about anatomy in here but of course there are enough of those on DA, now aren't there?

It's just basically my process I go through when I draw a body along with some stuff I learned from Idyllwild that I'd never known before.

Hope it helps! :la:

Circular shading instead of scribble shading, that's a good idea.

I really like the idea of a bend instead of the curve, because I always have a little trouble figuring out where the ribcage should end. :)

really great! the only problem i can see is the way the ribcage connects to the armpit. but the shading and perspective is awesome.

I can never create a good pose frame :iconcryforeverplz:... But I've never seen that advice concerning the spine! :O I should try that.

Thank you for sharing this! :D

You're welcome! I've had trouble with poses too. You're not alone. XD

It was one of those tips I learned while at Idyllwild art academy.

It always seemed so straight forward but, for me at least, that rule helped so much! It's like when we think of a spine we think curvy so we end up making the whole torso curvy with it, which isn't how the actual movement of the body works visually.

For me it’s sometimes the opposite where I end up making the spine stiff because I don't know where it bends.
